About our D-Groups
When you read the Gospels and you see the impact of Jesus, you notice how His greatest time and influence was spent focused on small groups of people. Jesus spent the vast majority of His time investing in 12 faithful men. As you look even closer at the Biblical narrative, you find Jesus' more focused and directed time was spent with Peter, James, and John. His direct, focused investment in these men would ultimately prove invaluable for the early church and for us today.
D- Groups are simply a way for us to create space for small groups of men and women to meet, challenge, and grow with one another and in the Word of God. Jesus didn’t fail to speak to and care for the masses,
nor did He neglect His responsibility to invest heavily in the twelve. He did, however, take great care
to invest in a few really well. For this reason, Parish Church is committed to working through D-Groups
in order to cultivate vibrant, committed, mature Christian brothers and sisters who are accountable
to one another and the Word of God.

WHAT IS A D-GROUP?
A Discipleship Group “D-Group” is a gender-specific, closed group of 3-5 believers who meet together regularly in order to pursue personal, intensive, spiritual growth and accountability. D-groups are
foundational and the first step in the Parish process of personal discipleship and community growth.

WHEN DO THEY MEET?
D- Groups meet every other week for 10 consecutive sessions for their first stage of meetings. The group leader and participants will determine the days and times for the meetings. Each person who signs up
to join a D-group is committing to attend a minimum of 8 of the 10 sessions, and participate
fully in the group’s work and discussion.

WHY JOIN A D-GROUP
Parish offers multiple ways for its people to grow in their understanding of the Word of God with other believers. Our men’s and women’s Bible studies along with our commitment to expository preaching
offer several ways of growing in our knowledge of the Scriptures. D-groups, however, seek to take the information we have gained together in the Word of God and apply it faithfully in our lives.
